ATLANTA (AP) — Officials at Atlanta’s airport — the world’s busiest — say authorities evacuated public areas of the domestic terminal while police investigated a suspicious package.

The airport said in a statement Wednesday morning on its official Twitter account that the evacuation is being done “out of an abundance of caution.”

Out of an abundance of caution, APD is investigating a suspicious package and has evacuated the public areas of the domestic terminal.

Airport officials and police could not immediately be reached by phone.

Within 15 minutes, airport officials tweeted that the package was cleared and people were allowed to travel throughout the airport again.

The incident has been cleared and people are returning to the atrium.

The evacuation comes one day after attacks at an airport and subway system in Brussels, Belgium, killed at least 34 people, including three suicide bombers, and injured 270 others.
