GENEVA, Iowa (AP) — A man who’s served prison time for arson is accused of burning an icehouse on a rural property near Geneva in northern Iowa.

Geneva and Hansell firefighters combatted the blaze Wednesday night. No injuries have been reported.

Franklin County deputies say they stopped a car that witnesses spotted leaving the scene and later arrested 27-year-old Brandon Deetz. He’s charged with arson, operating while intoxicated, theft and trespassing. His court-appointed attorney, Randy Hohansen, declined to comment Friday, saying he hadn’t yet talked to Deetz.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that Deetz was imprisoned for fires in Bremer and Chickasaw counties and is on parole.
