A driver was killed in a crash in McDonough County when he went off the road.
The crash happened when a 2003 Pontiac Sedan hit a curve on Illinois Route 9 around 8:45 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016, according to a statement from the Illinois State Police. A Macomb, Illinois resident, 33-year-old David L. Shinn, was driving northbound on the roadway near County Road 2100 North when he crashed after he "failed to negotiate a curve" hit a curve indicator, a stop sign, and a tree.
Police said Shinn was killed in the crash.
