BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) — The city of Bloomington is looking for a new management company to operate the city-owned U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reports that Central Illinois Arena Management announced Monday that it’s not negotiating a new contract with the city. The company has managed the coliseum since it opened a decade ago. Its contract with the city is to expire April 1.
Bloomington Mayor Tari Renner says the city will consider a short-term contract extension of perhaps 30 to 90 days as it seeks a new management company.
The Coliseum saw a nearly $500,000 loss in net operating income for fiscal year 2015. That’s more than double the loss for fiscal year 2014.
The change in management isn’t expected to affect upcoming events.
