St. Ambrose students boogey for bucks, raise money for Children’s Miracle Network

More than 600 students and volunteers are involved this year, hoping to raise $200,000 for the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Saint Ambrose students still have a lot of dancing to do. They're now halfway through the school's annual dance marathon, a fundraiser for children living with terminal illnesses.

More than 600 students and volunteers are involved this year, hoping to raise $200,000 for the University of Iowa Children's Hospital.

In order to raise that much, dancers had to get creative.

"The majority of our fund raising actually comes from dancers individually fund raising goals. Each of them  are encouraged to go out and strive and we try to give the tools to do that but the amazing part is that the majority of all that we raise comes straight from the dancers and their dedication to these kiddos," said Brennan Leonard, co-executive director of Dance Marathon.

Students will be on their feet until midnight Saturday, March 5.
