Maytag Blue Cheese recall expands, products pulled from Bettendorf Schnucks Market

A recall on blue cheese products has expanded to Schnuck Markets including one in Bettendorf, Iowa.

A recall on blue cheese products has expanded to Schnuck Markets including one in Bettendorf, Iowa.

The recall on more Maytag Blue Cheese products was announced Friday, March 4, 2016, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.  The cheese was voluntarily recalled after a possible Listeria contamination was discovered.

The following products are included in the recall:

  1. Maytag Blue Cheese, 4 oz. wedges, UPC 0085408900104
  2. Maytag Blue Cheese, various sizes (approximately 3-4 oz) sold cut and packaged in clear plastic wrap with Maytag Blue Cheese Dairy Farms label and scale label from the cheese department, UPC 0021806200000

If you bought the products between February 4, 2016 and February 29, 2016, you should throw it away and bring your receipt to the store for a full refund.  The recall affected 17 Schnuck’s stores including the one at 858 Middle Road in Bettendorf.
