A tree limb broke through a school bus window and hit a passenger after the vehicle backed into a tree.
It was around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 when the 54-year-old bus driver from Sterling, Illinois was backing the bus into a driveway on Penrose Road and hit a tree, according to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department. When the crash happened, about a third of a mile east of Coleta Road, a tree limb broke off, went through a window, and hit a passenger inside the bus.
Police say the passenger was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators were still looking into the incident.
