BURLINGTON, Iowa — A Dallas City, Illinois woman was arrested Wednesday, March 2 and arrested in connection with approximately $27,000 missing funds from an ambulance service in Henderson County.
Misty L. Mitchell, 29, was arrested by the Burlington Police Department on a warrant. The investigation started when it was discovered the funds were missing from the Lomax Ambulance Service, where Mitchell had been the treasurer. Henderson has been accused of embezzling the missing $27,000 over a one-year period.
Mitchell is being held in the Des Moines County Jail on a $50,000 bond and waiting extradition to Illinois. She is charged with Class 2 felony theft.
