Bill Cosby’s attorneys trying to dismiss defamation lawsuit
A judge has ordered lawyers to provide more information as attorneys for Bill Cosby seek the dismissal of a defamation lawsuit filed against the comedian by model Janice Dickinson in Los Angeles.
Superior Court Judge Debre Katz Weintraub on Monday delayed ruling on the motion until March 29.
The comedian’s attorneys want the case to be dismissed because they say Dickinson has given differing accounts of her interactions with Cosby over the years.
Dickinson claims Cosby raped her in 1982 and that his former attorney wrote letters to news outlets denying her claims and implying they could be sued if they used them in stories.
The attorney has branded the model and reality television star a liar.
Cosby also denied allegations. Dickinson sued for defamation after the criminal statute of limitations expired.
