STOCKTON, Illinois — The Stockton fire department caught fire Tuesday, Feb. 25, around 11 a.m. The Stockton police chief said heavy smoke poured out of the building upon arrival.
The crew was able to get a pumper out of the building to help control the fire until surrounding fire departments arrived, but most equipment and fire trucks inside have been damaged or destroyed.
No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
