The city administrator for the City of Aledo, Illinois has resigned.

After Robert G. Mahrt submitted his resignation Wednesday, February 17, 2016, his last day was set to be March 25, according to a statement from the city clerk, Jarod Dale.

Mahrt had acted as the city administrator since August of 2013.  Before coming to Aledo, Mahrt worked as a community development director for the Village of Mahomet, Illinois, was a community development coordinator for the City of Macomb, Illinois, and was a senior planner for the City of Carbondale, Illinois.

His next move is to be the city administrator for the City of Monticello, Illinois, Dale said.

“Mr. Mahrt has served the city well for the past two and a half years,” said Mayor Christopher Hagloch. “With his economic development background and municipal planning experience he has positively influenced the city council’s vision for Aledo. I wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
