Some lessons pay off for chef Brad Scott.

"You know it's such a proud moment when I can walk into a restaurant and see one of my graduates running their own place," says Scott who is the head of Scott Community College's Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Center in Bettendorf.

Chef Scott is in the kitchen to recreate a sweet breakfast made by his former student:  Quad City Pancake House Chef Jose Zepeda.

It's Cinnamon Roll pancakes.

1. Make pre-mixed pancake batter in a mixing bowl
2. Add 1 tsp vanilla
3. Add 1 tsp cinnamon
4. Add 2 Tbsp powdered sugar
5. Whip together the ingredients and set aside
6. Spray a hot griddle
7. Make separate topping with 1/2 pound of softened cream cheese
8. Add 1/4 cup powdered sugar
9. Add 1 Tbsp vanilla
10. Add 1 Tbsp cinnamon
11. Whip together ingredients
12. Make pancakes of a griddle, flipping them when golden brown

"You can serve with bacon and eggs," Chef Scott says.

Plus, you can slather as much icing on the pancakes as you and your family likes.

A sweet breakfast: Cinnamon roll pancakes Zepeda-style.

"Enjoy!"
