Davenport man charged after home and vehicle struck by gunfire

A home and a vehicle were struck by gunfire in the middle of the night in Davenport, Iowa.

A home and a vehicle were struck by gunfire in the middle of the night in Davenport, Iowa.

It was after 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2016 when the Davenport Police were called to a disturbance and shots fired, according to a statement from the department. Officers searched the 1400 block of West 7th Street and found shell casings.

Police said there was likely a confrontation between several people in front of the home. Detectives are trying to figure out if there is a connection between this incident and any others.

There were no injuries reported, police said.

Two days later, police said 21-year-old Jeramie Shorter of Davenport was charged in connection with the incident.  Shorter was charged with going armed with intent, and with intimidation with a dangerous weapon.  Jail records showed Shorter spent about an hour in the Scott County Jail before he was released on $10,000 bond.
