In the middle of winter, a group of bicyclists put their wheels on the ground at the Frozen Fat Fondo Fest.
Riders made their way through a terrain that included thick lowland forest, chunky river shoreline, and many technical challenges. But they had the help of their bikes made for this type of ride, fat bikes, which have thicker tires.
The long distance race took place at Credit Island Park in Davenport, Iowa on Saturday, February 6, 2016, and luckily that particular day was warmer than normal, with temperatures reaching into the 40s.
