A herd of cattle from Hillsdale, Illinois have become the inspiration for an exhibit of paintings by local art students.

The students are in Mrs. B's School of Art, which is a program for students of all ages and abilities.  Their latest creations have been put on display at the Bereskin Fine Art Gallery in Davenport, Iowa.

"It helps creativity, it helps critical thinking skills, and it teaches people that if you start something and you work through it to the end you can make it and you can make something wonderful," said gallery director, Pat Bereskin.

About 20 students painted the artwork, and the subjects are owned by Ronald Paaske.

The paintings were set to be on display until February 26.
