Police, and Rock Island County Coroner Brian Gustafson, confirmed two people have died after a wreck involving two vehicles just west of I-74 in Moline on 38th Avenue.

Initial reports indicated that a vehicle had rolled over into a creek at 38th Avenue and 31st Street. The wreck was reported around 7:40 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2016.  Moline Police say the two vehicles collided head-on; one hit a guardrail and another rolled into a ditch.

A man was reportedly trapped inside the overturned vehicle, and a neighbor who saw the crash reportedly rushed to the scene to help out.

"I'm glad there were some other people there to lend a hand," he said. "Luckily I live close enough where we had some stuff here to help him out, I had flashlights, a sled and we kind of got him on the sled and got him out of the water."

A portion of the roadway was blocked to traffic in both directions.

The morning after the crash, Gustafson said one female and one male died in the crash.  They were later identified as 69-year-old Judith M. Fox and 45-year-old Rodney Casillas, both from Moline.
