A young couple, their unborn baby and one-year-old daughter died of injuries they suffered when the vehicle they were in crashed in rural Hanover, Illinois.

The wreck was reported just before 8 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016, about a half-mile south of West Sawmill Road in rural Hanover.

Scott Link, 26, of Hanover, was driving northbound on Illinois Route 84 when the vehicle went off the road and through the ditch on the right side of the road, according to a report from the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.  The vehicle rolled onto its side and slid across all lanes of Illinois Route 84, struck a fence and a tree on the other side of the road, and came to rest upside-down.

Haylee Hovis, 22, of Hanover, and her one-year-old daughter were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, the report said; Link was taken to a hospital where he later died of injuries he suffered in the crash.

An online obituary indicated Ms. Hovis was also pregnant at the time of the crash.

A memorial gathering was planned for Wednesday afternoon, January 20.
