An 18-year-old faces allegations that he had a hand in two arson fires set in recent days in Rock Island, Illinois.
Felix Sawadogo was arrested in connection with a fire reported in the 1600 block of 12th Street just after 9:30 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2016. A News 8 viewer shared video of the fire, which was clearly visible from 11th Street.
Sawadogo was arrested at the same address and time as the Monday fire; court records showed he was charged with two counts of arson. Police say they think Sawadogo was also involved in a fire that happened Saturday evening, January 16.
Sawadogo was appointed a public defender at his first court appearance Tuesday, January 19. His bond was set at $150,000.
Jail records showed Sawadogo remained held at the Rock Island County Jail.
No injuries were reported in connection with either fire.
