Erik Lamere has been in the gun business for more than 4 years. Lamere says in his shop, Bunker Hill Trading Company, he takes who he sells his firearms to very seriously.

But recent talk of President Obama possibly turning to an executive order to deal with gun limitations has Lamere on edge.

"Trying to sidestep Congress is not how the country was designed. We don't always agree with Congress, but they're the ones we elected to send there," says Lamere.

While Lamere understands people's heightened fear of guns recently, he thinks a lot of it is a political stunt.

"I think there's a lot of buzz words that make it a good political topic. And we're coming up into an election with shootings that occurred, so this is a political gold mine," says Lamere.

Sources say President Obama's main focus will be on expanding background checks and who is required to get them. Right now background checks are not a requirement in the private sale of a gun.

But activists like Lamere say there are other problems that need addressing.

"It's about the person who buys the gun. That's where we have to talk about mental health issues in this country and how we can deal with them without severing people's rights to firearms and hunting sports," says Lamere.
