An East Moline business owner is offering a $1,000 reward to try and get stolen documents returned to him.

A thief or thieves broke into U-S Storage the night of December 12th, taking a safe and about $500. But owner John Crampton is more concerned about 60 titles to cars, trucks, and trailers in a metal box that were swiped.

"To get those replaced, not only will it take a lot of time. It will cost $6,000 to get the titles," he said.

So, he's offering the reward, even if it means the crooks get the reward cash back.

"I believe in karma. Some day, they'll get theirs. I'll be happy to just get it back, since it's time and money. If somebody finds it in a trash can, or alongside the road, no questions asked. I'd just pay 'em $1,000. Merry Christmas is right," he said.

Police are investigating the break-in. Any one with information can call Quad Cities Crimestoppers.
