Hope Creek Care Center prepares to fill 50 jobs

After a wave of retirements, the nursing home needs to boost its workforce from 250 to 300.

Hope Creek Care Center is planning to grow for the future by filling dozens of jobs.

Rock Island County's nursing home is holding a Job Fair.

It takes place from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, December 11.

Hope Creek Care Center is at 4343 Kennedy Drive in East Moline.

After a wave of retirements, the nursing home needs to boost its workforce from 250 to 300.

"Some of them are very skilled and require certificates and licenses," said Hope Creek Administrator Trudy Whittington.  "We also just need good, quality people who care and are compassionate and hard workers,"

There are openings in a wide variety of positions. Click here for see which positions are open.

"They need to come prepared to have that on-the-spot interview," she continued.  "To sit down and really talk to someone about what they're really looking for,  career goals and what type of employment they're seeking."

Hope Creek openings include a mix of part and full time opportunities.

Pay ranges from $9 per hour for a dietary aid to $21 per hour for a registered nurse.

Applicants should bring a resume and be ready to talk.

"We want them to come in with a very positive mindset that they're here to gain employment," she said.

As the nursing home enters a new era with a private management team, it's also a chance for job seekers to try something new, different and rewarding.

It can be an eye-opening experience.

"It's a great opportunity for someone who wants to find reward that goes beyond a paycheck," she concluded.
