People were in line as early as 3:45 a.m. at the Menards in Moline on black Friday 2015, many of them still hadn't gone to bed yet and had been out shopping all night long.

At 6:00 a.m., the doors opened and hundreds of shoppers piled in for deals on things like electronics, dog beds, dog toys, kids toys, kitchen appliances, cameras, light bulbs, batteries, rugs, etc. Many of them people were shopping for Christmas gifts.

"We got a lot of stuff for the kids in our family, a lot of picture frames," said Harmony Taylor, a shopper waiting in line at checkout.

Most of the shopping was tame compared to other places.

"It is a little chaotic you do see people rushing, but as far as the pushing and things you see on TV, that's really not how we are in this area," said Shirley Helmick, a Black Friday shopper. "You hear a lot of 'excuse me, I'm sorry, pardon me.'"

Ask any of these Black Friday enthusiasts why they don't just stay inside and shop online, they'll tell you it's about more than just a good deal.

"It's the camaraderie and the tradition," said Helmick.

It's not slowing down either. More than 130-million people are expected to shop over the holiday weekend.

"The lines were twice as long this time, last year it took about nine minutes to get everybody in the door, this year it took about 11 minutes to get everybody in the door," said Mike Humphrey, the General Manager at Menards in Moline.

Most shoppers say they plan to have up to half of their Christmas shopping done after Black Friday. Many of them will be finished by 7 p.m. Friday night.
