Davenport leaders say city crews did a great job handling the first snowfall of 2015, but drivers could have done better.
Davenport officials issued around 800 tickets over the weekend to cars parked along posted snow routes during the snow emergency.
Public Works crews say they need cars off the street so the plows can get through.
"There's some areas that we just cannot get down through. The plows do not fit between the parked cars. We have, in some areas, an inch between each side; we don't wanna hit a car. If it's that unsafe, I told the plows not to even plow the street," said Eric Longlett, streets maintenance engineer.
Even if your street isn't an official snow route, plow drivers are urging residents to move cars off the curb and into driveways or garages.
Public Works will be leaving yellow door-hangers at every house along the city's snow routes with information on how to sign up for emails, phone calls, or text alerts during a snow emergency.
