It's good news, bad news for business owners on Harrison Street. Good news is the project will be done sooner than predicted, but plans to open one lane on Harrison until then isn't going to happen.

It was just two weeks ago business owners on Harrison Street were singing a different tune. After being closed since August business owners were told one lane would be open by November 21st.  However, thanks to the weather, that didn't happen.

"When I got here and I seen the barriers still up I already knew it wasn`t going to get done," said Brenda Spears, owner of Spears Resale.

Spears says business has dropped since construction started, "It`s literally killed our business."

However, the project is ahead of schedule, most of the work is done and the city expects to have it completed by the second week of December, three weeks before their original deadline. By then Spears says the damage will be done, missing out on Small Business Saturday and Thanksgiving sales.

"Because of the holidays we were going to finally get be able to get back on track. We would never catch up you know, but we would have some income coming in," said Spears.

The project's manager say weather will play a factor if the project gets done early or not. He also said the city has decided to keep all lanes closed so they won't confuse drivers.
