A 30-year-old building made for the National Guard was renovated and rededicated in Clinton, Iowa.

The Clinton Readiness Center was originally constructed in 1986, and cost $1.15 million. In the fall of 2014, a $1.9 million renovation project began to improve the facility and bring it up to code.

The project, designed by Straka Johnson Architects of Dubque, Iowa, provided new administrative and recruiting office space, classrooms, unit supply and storage areas, a fitness room, as well as new windows, new doors, upgraded kitchen equipment, plumbing, and electrical upgrades.

Workers also installed a new perimeter fence, sidewalks and an equipment load-out area.

The rededication took place Saturday, November 14, 2015. Iowa National Guard leaders from federal, state and local governments were there to participate in the ceremony.
