Schools in East Moline, Illinois were placed on a precautionary lock down Thursday morning, November 5, 2015.
The lock down was confirmed by an employee at United Township High School. The schools in the area were locked down at approximately 10 a.m.
There were unconfirmed reports of a possible escape from the East Moline Correctional Center, which turned out to be a false alarm according to police.
The Illinois Department of Corrections also confirmed all prisoners were accounted for at the facility.
United Township was on lock down for 13 minutes according to Superintendent Jay Morrow.
