A driver was injured when his vehicle ran into the back of a semi-truck on a rural Galena, Illinois roadway.
The crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, according to a statement from the Jo Daviess County Sheriff.
According to the statement, the semi-truck, driven by a 68-year-old man, had been stopped on Stagecoach Trail just west of Ford Road, as the driver waited to back into a farm lane. He was waiting for oncoming traffic to pass by first.
An 84-year-old man drove up behind the semi and struck its left rear dual wheels, the statement said. The 84-year-old’s vehicle then started spinning, went off the right side of the roadway, and came to rest along the side. He was taken to the hospital for non-life- threatening injuries.
The next day, investigators were still looking into the crash.
