Two drivers were killed in a crash in Whiteside County, Illinois, between Erie and Hillsdale.
Sgt. Kristopher Schmidt with the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department said the two cars collided around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. One vehicle heading eastbound on Moline Road near Elston Road crossed the center line and got into the path of a westbound vehicle.
“Upon collision, the occupants were trapped and ultimately succumbed to their injuries,” said a statement from the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department.
Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene by the Whiteside County Coroner, according to Sgt. Schmidt; their names were withheld until family was notified.
Police later said both drivers were from Erie, Illinois; the eastbound vehicle was driven by 19-year-old Tyler Yuknis-Devault, and the westbound vehicle was driven by 31-year-old Tabetha Voeltz.
