Frank Klipsch entered the race for Davenport mayor to give voters a choice and to unite the city.

Klipsch had previously said he was looking to bring people together, be transparent, and listen to the residents to move forward in the city.

Apparently, the people of Davenport liked his vision for their city.

Klipsch was awaiting the results at the Redstone Room in Davenport on election day.  According to the unofficial results, with all of the precincts reporting Klipsch had about 66% of the vote and incumbent Gluba had about 32%.

Bill Gluba conceded in the mayoral race.

In Klipsch's acceptance speech, he talked about his plans to unite the City of Davenport.

"Really what I can do is nothing," he said, "it's what we can do is what's really important, because we're gonna do this - not me."

The campaign effort for Frank Klipsch took a very different approach than the campaign for Bill Gluba.  Klipsch's supporters were looking at the primary as a sign that voters were looking for a change in Davenport.

Before running for mayor, Klipsch spend decades working with the YMCA, holding the position as CEO of the Scott County Family Y from 1987 to 2012. More recently, Klipsch was President for the Youth and Family Foundation in Scott County, from 2013 to 2014.

Gluba had held the position of Davenport mayor since 2007.
