Voters will decide on Tuesday if they want to shake things up at Davenport City Hall or send Mayor Bill Gluba back to office for a fifth term.

Davenport polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, it's crunch time for the Gluba campaign.

Volunteers work the phones on the campaign's final day.

The four-term mayor is sounding realistic about his chances for a fifth.

"If my friends and supporters get out and vote, I'll win," he said.  "If they stay at home, I won't."

Challenger Frank Klipsch got into the race to give voters a choice.

The longtime CEO at Scott Family Y says he wants to build a new era in Davenport politics.

"Bringing people together, being very transparent, being open and listening to people," he said.  "From that, build consensus, partnerships and move forward."

Gluba says he helped to bring pride and civility back to City Hall.

"There's been more accomplished, quite frankly, in the last eight years than probably any other eight years in the city's history that I can see," he said.

He adds that there's still more to do with the city council.

"We solve problems," he said.  "We get things done.  We don't just talk about it.  We've got a lot of results."

But Klipsch counters with issues that sparked controversy within the city.

"There's been some good things that have happened," he said.  "But a lot of people feel bad, in a sense, of how some of those things came about."

After easily winning the primary vote, Klipsch isn't stopping.

Gluba, for his part, isn't taking anything for granted.

He missed 45 days this summer due to illness that landed him in intensive care.

"I've got a lot of catching up to do," he said.  "When you lose that many days just before an election, that could have a serious detrimental effect on the numbers."

Whether there's a fifth term or fresh start, voters will decide.

It's something to talk about in the Davenport  race.
