The U.S. Marshals Service was at a Davenport home Monday, October 26, 2015 ordering  a man to come outside.  The man they were seeking was 20-year-old Darion Harris, who has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 33-year-old William Dougherty out of Springfield.

Springfield Police detectives indicated that Harris had ties to Davenport, Iowa.

Police did end up entering the home on Monday, but it turned out that nobody was inside.

A lieutenant with the Springfield, Illinois Police Department confirmed that Harris was arrested Friday evening, October 30, 2015 after a chase. Officers had spotted Harris in the backseat of a vehicle in Springfield, and when police tried to pull the car over, it did not stop. It is believed that Harris got into the driver's seat during the chase.

There were no injuries reported from the car chase, which spanned about a mile through the city, according to Springfield Police.

The Springfield Police lieutenant said that Harris was wanted on three warrants for multiple charges out of Sangamon County, including murder, home invasion, armed robbery, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Harris was also listed as an absconder by the Illinois Department of Corrections, which reported he was on parole for burglary.

Harris was in custody in Sangamon County, according to the Springfield Police Department.
