Police activity was reported at Kirkwood Boulevard and Farnam Street in Davenport, Iowa after 5 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2015.
The U.S. Marshals Service was on scene, along with Scott County’s armored vehicle. The area is a residential neighborhood, and is about five blocks east of Brady Street.
Around 6:30 p.m. police were reportedly on a loud speaker and were ordering a man out of a home.
Police later confirmed they were searching for 20-year-old Darion Harris, who was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 33-year-old William Dougherty in Springfield, Illinois. Harris was also charged with home invasion and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
Harris was listed as an absconder by the Illinois Department of Corrections, which reported he was on parole for burglary.
Hours after it began, police did reportedly enter the home. No one was inside.
