A member of Hy-Vee's perks program got the ultimate "perk" when he won a $26,000 prize package.
Colona man, Eric Wheaton won a 2015 Chevy truck, a 60-inch TV, and a tailgate party for 25 people catered by Hy-Vee, all because he was a member of the Fuel Saver & Perks Program the store offers its customers. Wheaton was randomly selected as the winner of the prize giveaway.
Wheaton was presented with his prize Friday morning, October 23, 2015 at the Hy-Vee store in Silvis.
"It still didn't hit me right then and there until after I hung up the phone and I thought, I think I just won a brand new truck," Wheaton said.
Hy-Vee is planning surprises for future shoppers like kitchen makeovers and vacation packages.
