A 17-year- old from Moline has plead guilty to pulling the trigger in a murder last May.

LaMaree Wilson-Neulieb went before Judge Mike Meersman today, admitting to opening fire at a car in broad daylight at 53rd Street and 4th Avenue in Moline on May 20, 2015.

Zachary Phillips, 18, died in the shooting.  Eric Roberson, 20, was seriously wounded, but lived.

Today's guilty plea guarantees that Wilson-Neulieb receive no more than 60 years in prison.

"I'm glad he's owned up to what he's done. I'm glad it's been a quick process, but at the end of the day, it's not gonna bring Zachary back", said Lyndsie McCoy, the victim's mother.

"I think kids in society now have no value for life, their own or anybody elses, it's senseless", she said.

Prosecutors today told the judge police still don't have a clear idea of a motive for the murder, but said Wilson-Neulieb used his father's gun.

Sentencing is set for November 25th.
