Although the State of Illinois has seen a drop in its unemployment rate, the Quad Cities, and several other metro areas, aren't having as much luck.

The September 2015 report showed that the Quad Cities lost about 4,200 jobs in comparison with September 2014, according to data from the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

The field that took the biggest blow in the Quad Cities was professional and business services, followed by educational and health services, followed by leisure and hospitality, manufacturing and finally government.

Retail and trade as well as transportation, warehousing, and utilities reported payroll gains.
