A Quad City family is still looking for answers in a ten-year- old murder mystery.
George Lister of East Moline went missing on October 15, 2005. His body was found three weeks later in a wooded area near Interstate 280 and Route 92. No one has ever been arrested.
"The person needs to be taken off the street, ten years of being free. It's unacceptable", said Crystal Desmond, Lister's grandaughter.
Family members are now renewing a call for answers and help from the public.
"If anybody knows anything, to come forward, 'cause it's real hard", said Pam VanRycke, who is Lister's daughter.
"We're hoping someone who didn't come forward at first because they were scared, we're hoping they can say something now", said Desmond, who is organizing a fundraiser for Sunday, October 18th from noon til 5pm at the American Legion in East Moline.
Lister was in construction and was part owner of Shorty's Pizza in East Moline. It was the last place he was seen alive. His abandoned truck was found in the parking lot of Walgreens in East Moline.
Lister and his wife had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She died, without any answers.
"Our family suffered a lot. Mom, she passed away last year, wanting to know who murdered him", said VanRycke.
