The hallways in Moline High have been quieter this week.

"I teach two doors down from her and sometimes I would hear her from all he way down there, just through her boisterous explanations. She would get into it," says Mr. Calhoun, a Moline High teacher.

An English, speech and theater teacher K.C. Griesenbeck suffered a brain aneurysm last weekend and passed away. She was 44 years old.

Mrs. Griesenbeck is remembered by her students and staff as being someone who truly cared about her students.

"It wasn't just about the curriculum or about putting on the best production. It was about people growing in character and growing closer with each other too," says senior student Carolyn Wehrs.

Wehrs is part of the Moline theater club, and Mrs. Griesenbeck was the head of it. The club has been working on a play called Almost, Maine that they will perform Halloween weekend at 7 a.m. in honor of Mrs. Griesenbeck.

This week at school extra resources were available for grieving students. Psychologists, social workers and counselors are available.
