UPDATE 3:36pm An American Water spokesperson said repair work at the site of the water main break is now complete. Water service has been restored to impacted businesses.
A portion of the northbound lane of Eastern Avenue will stay closed for a few more days for repairs to the street.

Portions of Eastern Avenue and Kimberly Road in Davenport, Iowa were closed because of a water main break Monday morning, October 12, 2015.
As crews were working on a repairs, the right, northbound lane of Eastern Avenue was closed to traffic, as well as one eastbound lane of Kimberly Road, according to a spokesperson from American Water. Drivers heading northbound on Eastern Avenue will be unable to turn right onto Kimberly Road while repair work is going on.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area to prevent traffic delays.
Repairs were expected to be done by mid-afternoon, but “the roadway that was excavated will remain closed for a couple of days until it can be restored properly.” said the American Water spokesperson.
American Water said HyVee, Walgreens, Burke Cleaners, Rival Sports Bar & Grill and other businesses in that area will be impacted by the emergency repair.
