Traffic was backed up on Interstate 80 near Annawan, Illinois.
Drivers were reportedly stopped around 7 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015. News 8’s traffic map showed a blockage west of Illinois Route 78.
Some reports indicated that traffic was backed up to the Atkinson exit, while others said traffic landed as far back as Geneseo.
A spokesperson from the Henry County Sheriff’s Department said officers from Annawan and Atkinson Police Departments were on scene around 8 p.m.
Around 8:40 p.m. a News 8 crew said just a few squad vehicles remained on the scene. One lane of traffic was moving slowly in the area.
