"Time's up," that was the message Governor Bruce Rauner delivered on Wednesday in suburban Chicago.
The Republican Governor is calling for majority Democrats to pass what he says is a responsible budget without a deficit. Illinois has operated more than 90 days without a state budget, with many services such as subsidized day care already taking a hit for lack of funding.
"The longer the legislature takes, the more people will suffer, the bigger the deficit will grow," Rauner said during his speech in Oak Lawn on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.
More than 170 miles west of Oak Lawn, Augustana College students have their own ideas on what Illinois needs to do when moving forward.
A range of topics were discussed, including the budget, education, mental illness and taxes.
