With two men left in the race for Davenport Mayor, both Mayor Bill Gluba and challenger Frank Klipsch look to get more people to the polls in the November general election. However, it's not just a race for mayor, but a race to raise more money.

"I've been in the hospital and out of commission for 45 days. So, we didn't have the time to raise the money we need to raise and to get out as aggressively as we'd like to," said Davenport Mayor Bill Gluba.

Campaign finance documents show Klipsch out-earning Mayor Gluba by $25,000. Klipsch raised $55,000, with a big chunk of it coming from leaders in the business community.

"I have a record of bringing people together and getting things accomplished and having people not only feel involved, but also part of the process and the solution. That's where I want to head and that's what I'm hearing from the people that they want to see as well," said Davenport Mayoral candidate Frank Klipsch said.

Both men look at Tuesday night's primary results as a starting point leading to an even bigger campaign.

"A lot of people just said 'Oh Bill, you didn't have any opposition. We knew you'd get through the primary.' Now, we have to get out," Gluba said.

"The feedback I've received is very positive today and obviously from the voters yesterday. I'm excited and looking forward to the next month to get the chance to meet more people," Klipsch said.

Mayor Gluba says there is plenty of time to raise more money and catch up with Klipsch, and Gluba says getting more people out to vote is critical for his re-election.
