A second water main at the church construction site means students at Jordan Catholic School will miss classes again.
The first water main break happened at about 8 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2015. The break interrupted water service throughout the school building at 2901 24th Street in Rock Island, so students were sent home for the day.
A second water line break happened Tuesday, October 6, again sending children home from school.
“We are dismissing students immediately as we have no water in our restrooms and drinking fountains,” said a statement from the school issued at about 8:30 a.m.
Both water main breaks happened in an area under construction at St. Pius X church.
