It will be Mayor Bill Gluba and former Scott County Family YMCA chief executive officer Frank Klipsch on the ballot this November in Davenport’s Mayoral election.

Gluba and Klipsch received more votes than the other two challengers: Davenport businessman David Hereid and city employee Dean Weber.

  • FRANK KLIPSCH  56%
  • BILL GLUBA (incumbent)  32%
  • DAVID HEREID  5%
  • DEAN WEBER  7%

Turnout was 10%.

Gluba is seeking a fifth two tear term as mayor.

“Well I’ve got to raise a lot of money and I’ve been in the hospital for 39 days and out of it for 45, so clearly I’ve got to raise a lot more money,” said Mayor Gluba.

“I’ve got to do some more campaigning, get out there, and meet people.”

Klipsch joined the Scott County Family YMCA in 1987, retiring in 2012.  Since then, he’s been president of the organization’s Youth and Family Foundation.

“People do want a change,” says Klipsch.

“As the results sit right now, about 65% of the people want to see a change and I’m positioned to be that change.”

The general election will be held Tuesday, November 3.
