Members of the United Auto Workers Union approved the new six-year contract with Deere & Company.

Public Relations Director Ken Golden announced the approval Sunday evening, October 4, 2015.  The tentative agreement was made October 1 between Deere and the UAW that required a vote among the UAW members for approval.

Roughly 10,000 Deere manufacturing employees from 12 factories are represented by the UAW. This includes Iowa facilities in Davenport, Ankeny, Dubuque, Ottumwa, and Waterloo; Illinois facilities in East Moline, Moline, and Milan.

Some key points in the contract include maintaining employee health care, "substantial" pay increases, improved vacation usage, and a guarantee of no plant closings. In addition, because the contract passed, all employees will be eligible for a $3,500 bonus.
