A vehicle crashed into a building in Sterling and collided with multiple motorcycles and ATVs.
According to Sgt. Michael Bauer with the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Zachary T. Vandervort was headed eastbound on Route 30 in a Ford Edge when he crossed the westbound lane and went into a ditch. Vandervort continued eastbound and hit a building and “numerous motorcycles and ATVs inside before coming to rest.”
The crash happened around 11:15 a.m. Sunday, October 4, 2015, Sgt. Bauer said.
Vandervort was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released, according to Sgt. Bauer. Vandervort was cited for improper lane usage.
