Our part of Iowa remains dry, thanks to a strong area of high pressure. But that's not the case in the far western part of the state. Council Bluffs, Iowa saw around 7 inches of rain in just a 24 hour period! That flooding caused streets, homes, and businesses to become flooded. Schools were closed on Wednesday because of the flood waters. This rainfall has also flooded numerous farm fields, which will significantly delay the Fall harvesst. But the surplus of rain doesn't go that far east of I-35. Burlington, Iowa has seen just a hair over an inch of rainfall in three week's time!
