Governor Scott Walker's announcement of dropping out of the Presidential race has some hoping more Republican candidates follow his lead.
It was just two months ago Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker stopped by Davenport after announcing he was running for President. Walker who was an early leader in Iowa faded. On Monday he made it official.
Rock Island County Republican Chairman Bill Bloom says Walker made the right choice.
"It`s really difficult to get a sense of where the center of the party really is," said Bloom.
He says he wouldn't be surprised if we see more candidates drop out, "I think governor Walker is communicating an important message to the rest of the field that some of them need to sacrifice their own aspirations for the betterment of the electorate."
Bloom says its difficult to tell where Walker's votes will go, but guesses they'll go to either Bobby Jindal or Jeb Bush.
"I think many of his supporters now will probably look to another candidate with gubernatorial experience," said Bloom.
While Bloom hates to see any of the GOP candidates go, he says he hopes more will follow in Walker's footsteps.
"It's sorry to see such highly qualified people have drop out but it`s absolutely necessary that some of them do drop out in order to get the number down to more manageable level for the average voter," said Bloom.
Governor Walker has yet come out to say which candidate he'll endorse.
