Ross' Restaurant has entered into its final weekend at its downtown Bettendorf location.
On Saturday, September 19, 2015 a customer appreciation event was set to be held at the restaurant from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. The event included a live band, followed by a local DJ playing music from each decade that Ross' has been in business.
A chili-eating contest was planned and ids at the event were invited to play in a bounce house.
Customers also could enjoy prices from the older days, with Rossburgers being 50-cents and a Rossburger, fries and pop cost just $1.
"We are so excited about our new restaurant and can't wait to share it with our community," said Melissa Freidhof-Rodgers, the manager and granddaughter of founder Harold Ross. "We wanted to have this last weekend be a celebration of our beloved customers, many who have been coming in for our 75-plus years of operation."
The restaurant was one of several businesses that was forced to relocate to make way for the new Interstate 74 bridge over the Mississippi River.
The last day for the restaurant was set to be Tuesday, September 22.
