An annual fun run and walk in Davenport, Iowa were planned to benefit kids who are part of the Genesis Health Services Foundation.
The third Fall Foot Race was set to be held Saturday, September 12, 2015. The event includes a one-mile fun run/walk at 8:30 a.m. and a 5k at 9 a.m. The races start at Prairie Heights Park off of 53rd Street and Eastern Avenue.
Proceeds will go to various causes within the Genesis foundation. Camp Genesis, which is a free camp for kids who have someone in their family battling cancer, is one of the beneficiaries. The other causes are free flu shots to elementary-aged kids, and to the Genesis Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The top three male and female finishers would get trophies after the race. Medals will go to age-group winners.
The event was coordinated by the Genesis Health Promotion Department, Genesis Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine and was co-sponsored by Tri-City Electric of Iowa and Kimberly/Courtesy Car Centers.
