Flags in both Illinois and Iowa have been ordered to be flown at half-staff on Friday, September 11, 2015, in remembrance of those killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
Iowa Governor Terry Branstad ordered flags at half-staff from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday.
Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner ordered flags at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday.
This includes flags at the state buildings, businesses, schools, municipalities, and individually-owned flags.
